This homework project links to the work you will be doing in class. The work should take you at least 5 hours to complete and will be given a level at the end of the half term. Failure to complete this task to a high standard will affect your level for the unit.

Pick 1 of the drawing techniques we have looked at in lessons and use it to create a drawing of an urban environment.
Week 3/4:
Draw your trainers.
Week 5/6:
Collect ‘urban’ images.

Main Task

Task 1:
Select a famous artist and create an A2 size artist study page. Complete a detailed Artist Study on a 'Street Artist'; use the techniques and layout introduced in your lessons. Either find your own Artist or look at one of the following: Shepard Fariley, Swoon, D*Face, Banksy, Invader The artist study page needs to show some kind of design to it & should be planned out in rough before you begin. Complete an analysis of the work you have looked at. Artist Analysis:
• Write a detailed response to the works of art you are looking at using full sentences and key language.
• Try to think about the images and what the artist was trying to show through their work.
• Find out about the artist and demonstrate your knowledge of their life and work to put the images in context. For example – when where they born? Where do they work? What medium do they use? What types of colours appear in their work?
Task 2:
Create your own version of the artist’s work using the same materials (if possible), subject matter & think about the compostion of your work.
Annotate the work you have completed fully, and present to a high standard. This homework project links to the work you will be doing in class.
